Character Spotlight: Princess Alishia

Spotlights are a weekly (at least) post about a character, location, or concept from Poas (or adjacent realms). They offer a deep single-glance view that may other wise be spread across the pages.

Alishia is the daughter of Queen Teiris and King Daelin. At fifteen, she is the princess of Terswood, and though she was born after her father abdicated his claim to the throne of Dracon, she is considered the princess there as well. Alishia is one of the few “mixed blood” people of Poas, being half human and half svarters, but her station in royalty has shielded her the negativity that normally comes with being of “impure blood”.

Princess Alishia’s magical capabilities are unknown. She has shown a small ability to absorb and hold mana, as all svarters can, but at a much lower level, especially considering the power shown by her mother’s line, descending from the First High Queen Ters. Her father’s side has had powerful archmages in every generation, leading back to the great Cazlandt and down to her half-brother Lone. Perhaps she is still too young for those powers to manifest.

Alishia splits her time between Terswood and Dracon and wears two sanctum stones to teleport her to her suite of rooms in either the royal wing of the city or the eastern residence of the castle. She enjoys reading in The Stacks, picking up a book on any random topic; and The Stacks are nothing it not random. Though she has noticed something odd about the handwriting in all those thousands of texts in the endless library…
