Spotlights are a weekly (at least) post about a character, location, or concept from Poas (or adjacent realms). They offer a deep single-glance view that may other wise be spread across the pages.
The sanctum stone was invented by Daelin nearly thirty years ago. These thick silver rings passively absorb ley energy and are able to teleport the wearer to a predetermined location at will. Though it hasn’t been tested, Daelin is confident the stones would even work between realms.
Daelin created this for his first wife Aaislin while she was pregnant for with their son Lone. She enjoyed going for long walks alone through Perith and into the frozen forests beyond.
A total of seven sanctum stones were created by Daelin. Princess Alishia wears a sanctum stone on each hand, one being attuned to her rooms in Terswood and the other to Dracon. Queen Teiris wears one that will take her to her room in Terswood. The other four sanctum stones are kept secure in The Vault below Castle Dracon.
Daelin has never allowed the sanctum stones to be studied but some artificers, namely General Miech of Dracon, have made strides in reverse engineering the work. As Daelin will gladly speak about, teleportation can be wildly dangerous. It is deadly if done incorrectly and impossible for the unprepared to guard against.
